Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 on windows 8 Hyper v - Network connection

I have setup Hyper-V on Windows 8 Pro and created a VM of windows server 2008 R2 SP1.

Created a virtual internal switch and on the vm if I apply a static IPv4 address to the network adapter, ok and close it and go back into the properties its all blank, the only thing that is saved is the primary DNS IP. 

This works fine in server 2012 and windows 7 vm's, just having the issue with server 2008 R2

Any help would be appreciated. and let me know what other information you require.
