2 node cluster with a MD3000i as backend storage. Dell PE905 AMD procs and 32 Gigs Mem a piece
Networks as follows (4 Ports per Host Broadcom with latest Driver and firmware) TOE and iSCSI TOE disabled
Mgmt /w VM traffic
CSV
Last 2 network ports are SCSI network.
Problem I am seeing is that Quick Migration works fine, 30 seconds to 1 minute time. Live Migration takes 35 to 40 minutes. It starts and hits 10% immediately and crawls 16% 18%. It will eventually Live Migrate but extremely slow. Testing I have adjusted binding order around, always keeping iSCSI on the bottom. Checked the Cluster networks, Mgmt allow vm traffic and cluster access, CSV allow cluster access only and iSCSI no cluster access. There are no apparent errors in the system event logs or application logs. We are in the process of updating bios and some other firmwares on the servers.
Seems to me as if the initial copy of the VM occurs, the Memory/CPU transfer seems to hang things up. Has this been seen on the MS side and or am I missing a hotfix that might resolve this?
