I've been working at a customer site most of the day where they have a 2-node Hyper-V Server 2008R2 cluster that hasn't been maintained since it was built a few years back. I patched and put the latest HP BIOS & drivers in place on one node,
and the result has been that whenever you try to start a VM on that node, it fails with an error 0x80070422 relating to the emulated IDE controller. I've looked all over the logs and can't find anything to indicate what might be going on. This
happens even if you create a VM that isn't clustered, and is on local disk so it appear to be something quite fundamentally wrong. I'm planning to just rebuild the host tomorrow, but if anyone has any bright ideas while I'm asleep they would be greatly
appreciated...
