I have two physical servers and 1 shared storage (iSCSI with a Synology SAN) and I want to make HA with it at a small business. I tried to use Hyper-V, but it seems i need to join the Hyper-V machines to domain. But I don't have other servers, the DC will be a VM inside it. (i need to make the domain more fail proof)
Even if we buy another server to have the DC outside VM, I will have the same problems, the domain won't be fail proof, I don't want to have non-VM systems.
Joining the physical machine to a domain inside seems to be a bad idea. Are there any other options?
With vSphere I don' have such problems, two physical computers + 1 shared storage is working, but vSphere is free...
I didn't try the new shared nothing feature, but I think it needs SMB v3 which is only available with Windows Server 2012 so it won't work with a SAN.
