Hi,
Our HyperV platform uses pass through disks stored on an ISCSI SAN. Due to a hardware issue the SAN has rebooted a couple of times which means that HyperV lost access to the disk for around 2 minutes.
During this time the VMs crashed and needed to be rebooted.
What timeout settings can be adjusted to ensure that VM's just freeze during a temporary loss of access to the SAN and not crash. Do these settings need to be adjusted on Host or Guest or both?
Also if I introduce Clustering and in particular CSVs (Clustered Shared Volumes) into the picture, does that complicate things. Can CSVs handle temporary loss of access to the SAN
Looking forward to here about anybodies experiences in tweaking SCSI timeouts.
Thanks
Daniel
