I have a hyperv box (W2K8R2) that has been running fine for quite a while but has started to hang on me the last couple of days. It is configured with 2 nics (one dedicated to the host and the other to hyperv).
I went through the event log looking for something odd and I found a bunch of warnings stating " Port 'SWITCHPORT-SM-D3CAF5D4-BC6A-4397-AEA7-75E293C1FB50-0-1' was prevented from using MAC address '00-15-5D-03-01-03' because it is pinned to port '6FFF5F48-F8DE-4073-A'. " One of the strange things about this warning is that this box is configured for hyperv to use MAC addresses in the 02-00 to 02-FF range so I don't know where the 01-03 is coming from. There is a huge number of these warnings - sometimes as many as 12 per second. What is causing these?
Thanks
Bert
