Hello, I am currently in the process of upgrading a Server 2003 VM (Hyper-V) that is a DC, to a 2008 Hyper-V and will also promote it back to being the DC. There is one other DC in this AD structure, that is on another Hyper-V host.
The Host system runs on 2008 server core. There is another VM on this same host that is an apps server. The DC (2003 hyper-v) system currently has a low OS disk space, and I want to tackle that when I do the upgrade install.
I also want to move away from the Server 2008 CORE install, to possibly a Server 2008R2 on the Host and then install my Virtuals - one DC & one APP. I’m not sure if the client will go for this right now, but they do want to upgrade the Server 2003 DC VM to a Server 2008 DC VM.
What versions should I be considering? Any known issues? What precautions should I take.
