Server is 2016 Standard w/ Hyper-V role.
Using Dell Appasure (Now Quest Rapid Restore) backup/imaging software I had to convert a physical server which failed to a VM. Essentially performing a physical to virtual conversion with "virtual standby" tools inside of Rapid Restore.
VM came online fine and all is running well, but I noticed the system disk and data disk of the VM are both dynamic with differencing disks being used. The disk properties of the VM for system and data both point to separate differencing disks.
I would like to convert these disks to just fixed disks but am not sure how to proceed. I've searched and found a few articles but still not clear on how to accomplish this and worried I may lose changes or data saved in the differencing disk in the
process.
I also need to expand the data disk which I'm assuming I can do after converting to fixed.
Any help or pointers to resources is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Is it simply shutting down the vm and choosing each disk in settings and the edit / convert to fixed?
