I just purchased a 64GB flash chip for my video camera and it will not play on my computer with Windows 7. It is a Sand Disc SDXC. Can I down load a program to enable me to see and copy videos form the flash chip to my computer?
Thanks

Hello Community
If we are using Hyper-V to create Virtual Machines and VHD's do we need to use VMware with it?
If so when?
Thank you

I want to be able to connect with a Windows Mobile Device through Windows Mobile Device Center, within a Virtual Machine. When connecting through the Hyper-V Manager and through Remote Desktop, under "Other supported RemoteFX USB devices", I can see the Symbol USB Sync Cradle. In the VM, in Device Manager, I don't see a USB connection. In the VM, I don't see any meaningful errors in the Event Viewer.
Host: Windows 8.1 Enterprise Hyper-V on a Domain. Upgraded from Windows 8.1 Pro. When this computer was originally installed with Windows 8 Pro, Hyper-V was enabled. I removed Hyper-V, and installed VMWare Player, because I wanted USB Pass-through. I then uninstalled VMWare and installed VirtualBox. Recently, I uninstalled VirtualBox, upgraded to Windows 8.1 Enterprise, and enabled Hyper-V.
Virtual Machine OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 on a Workgroup. Started out with being a VMWare VM, using VMWare Player. Moved to VirtualBox. USB Pass-through was working in both those virtual environments. Used Disk2VHD to convert the VM to a VHDX file.
On the Host:
Ran "sfc /scannow"
All Microsoft Updates are current.
What am I missing?
Hi,
We have three HyperV 2008 R2 datacenter server and they are in Cluster. recently some VM instants are going down frequently with I/O device error. These server is pinging but not accessible either remote or direct connect. I am gettingI/O offline device error when i logged the server directly. Kindly find the error as below and let me know the resolution for the same.

I have a set of VMs that I'd like to connect to with enhanced session and audio redirection, but for some reason audio recording has stopped working through the enhanced session connection. The host is windows 8.1, and the guest is server 2012 R2, and I have the correct policies enabled on both host and guest. I can connect the enhanced session with the "record from this computer" selected for audio capture, but on the guest I only have playback, not capture.
What's really strange is that if I connect a second virtual NIC to this VM with a public IP address, I can RDP directly into this machine (through a regular RDP session, not the hyperV enhanced session), and recording redirection works just fine. So far I've tried:
I've also tried USB redirection using a USB audio device, and this works through enhanced session, but I'd also like to be able to get an audio connection using just the default audio device. Anyone have any ideas?
I visit to windows7 VDI through rdweb, but when I restart the computer with the "shutdown -r -t 0" command from VDI, through RDWEB can no longer connected to virtual machine. The error "the requested session access is denied", with the following error log:
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user GYGH\ghjlzg.
Error: NULL
Remote Desktop Connection Broker Client failed while getting redirection packet from Connection Broker.

RD Connection Broker failed to process the connection request for user GYGH\ghjlzg.
Error: VM plugin failed to wakeup a VM.
Failed to spin VM on host rdvh07.gygh.local. Error: VM plugin failed to wakeup a VM.
If I use mstsc to connect via IP or via the cluster manager to virtual machine shutdown restart, through the RDWEB can also be normal connection. Please enlighten me, how to solve the.thanks

emulex power path is usedI'm trying to use the Capacity Planner for Hyper-V replica tool to estimate requirements for a replica site.
It keeps getting stuck "Getting the VM and VHD from primary site, this can take upto several minutes...". I've waited over an hour, and it still sits there.
The primary site is a 3 node Hyper-V 2012R2 cluster. I have installed and configured the Hyper-V Replication Broker role on the cluster. For now, it's set to use HTTP without any certificates.
I don't have a replica site yet, so I've selected "Skip tests involving Replica site". For the primary site, I've tried pointing it at both the replication broker, and at one of the individual nodes. It gets stuck in the same place.
Other things I've tried:
In all cases, it gets stuck at the exact same spot.
Any idea how to figure out why it is freezing? Have I missed configuring something important for the tool to run?
hello,
I have two hyper-v nodes in my environment both are hosting multiple DC's NPS, DNS,...etc
I used native windows server 2012 R2 native NIC teaming
I did team all available network interfaces "four of them" to a single network adapter using LACP. link aggregation control protocol
things has been working fine for about three months
now days I can see a very strange warning message it says "MAC conflict: A port on the virtual switch has the same MAC as one of the underlying team members on Team Nic Microsoft Network Adapter Multiplexor Driver"
any idea or solution ?
its not fair the teamed interface use the same MAC address of one of its members !

Hi,
I am trying to install LAN driver on hyper-v server 2012 R2.
Mother board is Intel DH61WW and the LAN adapter is Intel 82579LM Adapter.
I have the latest INF files which i have downloaded from Intel site.
I am installing the driver using pnputil.exe and it shows that it has successfully installed the LAN driver, but when i am restarting the server , the error comes "NO network adapters found".
I ran the driver setup through command prompt, the UI came and after the installation it shows - no adapters present.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Chandan
Hello,
I'm hoping someone has run into this before. I have dual nice in my hyper-v server and both are intel but different controllers. The one that I am having issues with is an intel I217-VM. Anytime I go to create an external switch it fails and gives me the following errors :
"Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections." click advanced "Failed to connect Ethernet switch port ...., port name = ...... adapter guid = .... : The system cannot find the file specified 80070002.
Each time I try creating the switch and it fails the only way to get it to show up again in the gui is to reboot the system. If I check the device manager is states that the device could not be started.
Things I have tried already:
Installing the newest drivers from Intel
Updating Windows
Creating a new internal switch (which doesn't fail) removing all extensions then switching it to external (fails right away)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Is there a way to re-attach VMs to a Hyper-V server? My Server 2012 box died, but as my VMs were stored on another disk (D:\) I thaught I could quickly put this VM-disk in my 2012 R2-box and re-attach the VMs.
I know the proper way is exporting and importing, but I couldn't export the VMs properly so I choose to register the VM, and it comes with an error:
The wizard cannot import virtual hard disks from source folder 'D:\Vms\VM1\'
Failed to get the disk information.
Failed to open attachment 'D:\VMs\VM1\VM1.vhd". Error: 'The file cannot be accessed by the system.'.
I am seeing a Virtual Machines Uptime, as reported by the Hyper-V Manager, being reset to zero after a recovery point is taken. Can anybody explain this?
NOTE: Internally the guest VM still shows the correct Uptime. This confirms that the VM has not actually rebooted. Also that the VM is still operational while the recovery point is being taken, hence the Uptime is not being reset due to a VM save.

I'm a little confused, but does the Hyper-V Managment Console exclude the number of days a machine has been up for???
These machines have been up for more than 4 or 5 days... Is there a way to change this?
Thanks!

Hello,
After exporting 3 VM's from one PC and importing them on a second PC they seem to be working fine. The domain controller is functional and TFS is working correctly with Visual Studio.
I had 3 scripts written in VB script to start, stop and check status of the VM's. On the second PC, the scripts don't work correctly where the VM's are concerned; they aren't collecting data on the VM's. I asked about this first in the scripting forum. The suggestion was to try Powershell; but even in Powershell the VM's are not being reported. So I think the problem is not the scripting, but the service.
What kinds of things can I do to figure out why status reporting for VM's through WMIObject is not working? Is this a known problem? Should I try to uninstall Hyper-V and reinstall? What would I do with the VM's if I try that?
Is it possible during the import some old data from the previous host was kept and that is keeping the new host from properly registering the new VM's?
Added material since original post:
Using the original PC after doing a Windows Reset, I created a new vm using one of the old vm hard disks. That vm shows up in powershell with get-vm.
On the new PC I copied the existing vm hard drives to another location on the same disk, and created a new vm using the same .vhdx as worked on the old PC. That new vm does not show up in powershell with get-vm. I then created a new vm from scratch in Hyper-V, and that vm does not show up in powershell with get-vm. I performed the same operation in the original PC, meaning created a new vm exactly the same way and get-vm in powershell shows that new vm on the old PC. I.E., the seemingly same operations on the old PC work with get-vm, on the new PC they do not.
I did notice there are differences in the Hyper-V app. The new PC has a choice between generation 1 and generation 2 vm's. I tired that also and it does not seem to make a difference.
The old PC Hyper-V version is 6.2.9200.16384.
The new PC Hyper-V version is 6.3.9600.16384.
Final addition of material showing PowerShell is working, but I still have an issue: If I right click I can run powershell as an administrator, so that's clearly been my problem. I am missing something basic here. I thought if my user account is designated as an administrator, everything I do will be done as an administrator, so clearly I need a basic lesson that I guess everyone else already understands. Please explain if someone could.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Alan
